The WPR [World Performance Racing] MV Agusta F4RR that will race at the 2012 Isle of Man TT Tourist Trophy races is on display on the MotoGB stand for the press and public to see for the first time. Dressed for the show in race bodywork the bike looks stunning and the interest is amazing with fans eager to see it ‘in the flesh’.
Neil Haslam, Head of WPR, commented; “This is a milestone for the team and MV Agusta, as the fans can see we have been sympathetic to the race heritage with the design of the paintwork – everyone has been very supportive and we are now focussed on preparations for the ‘Island’. We will have more announcements to make following the show regarding rider, partners and plans for this historic and emotional return to the TT for the MV Agusta brand. A big thank you to MotoGB for all their support over the past twelve months as we have worked towards this show.”
ENGINE: Short-stroke radial valve engine 201 hp at 13,400 rpm with increased bore diameter, new primary drive, large-diameter titanium intake and exhaust valves, lightweight forged pistons in “aerospace RR alloy”, close ratio gearbox, variable length intake runners, Öhlins multi-adjustable 43 mm forks, Öhlins TTX 36 rear shock and Öhlins steering damper.
CHASSIS: The frame and swingarm are common with those of the already excellent F4, but to optimize performance and adapt the F4 RR to all race tracks and conditions, the MV Agusta F4 RR allows a virtually infinite combination of adjustments. Multi-adjustable suspension, essential for a racing motorcycle, has been combined with the adjustable steering head angle (with interchangeable eccentrics) and the height of the swing arm pivot and rear axle by means of calibrated inserts.
