Welcome race fans… World Performance Racing is a new team that revealed their plans for the 2012 motorcycle racing season at Motorcycle Live 2011; NEC, Birmingham, UK… to bring the legendary MV Agusta brand back to motorcycle racing – and yes; that includes the famous Isle of Man TT Tourist Trophy. Over the next few months WPR will be making announcements on team partners and riders so please keep checking in for news and updates.
The team is made up of experienced motorcycle racing personnel and is based in Chesterfield, UK. Neil Haslam, Head of WPR, added: “This is an incredible project and we are proud to be involved with MV Agusta and their UK Distributor; MotoGB, without their support this couldn’t happen. We will be writing a little piece of motorcycle racing history and we appreciate the responsibility this brings with it; the TT is an iconic event and to bring MV Agusta back will be emotional for us; but also signals the determination and intent of the brand to thrive after such a difficult time recently.”
